📓 PROJECT LOG — JKSSB Vault

1. Who this is for and what the goal is

User: preparing for the JKSSB Finance Account Assistant (FAA) exam. Exam date: 15 November 2026 · 120 questions / 120 marks / 120 minutes · OMR · −0.25 negative marking · ~600 vacancies · single-stage written, no interview.

Official weightage

Core strategy established: Accountancy (30) + J&K GK (30) = 60 of 120 marks decide selection. Accountancy is the more controllable of the two because its syllabus is one finite book.

Vault location: C:\\Users\\muhsi\\Downloads\\original-jkssb — an Obsidian vault. Core plugins + Dataview only.

2. Chronological record of everything done

Phase 1 — The 7 past papers (2026)

Seven completed JKSSB papers were supplied, each in its own folder under JKSSB-PAPERS/ with 5 files (Syllabus, Question-Paper, Answer-Key, Tagged-Answers-Explanations, Analysis).

Total = 760 questions.

For each paper I: read syllabus → question paper → answer key; tagged every question by syllabus portion; answered per the official Series-A key with explanations; and wrote an Analysis file on question distribution and emphasis. Facts were web-verified where needed. All syllabuses were reformatted into Markdown tables — format only, no data changed (an explicit user constraint).

Phase 2 — Vault navigation

Went through plan mode; approved approach = additive only. Built:

• Home.md — master hub
• _Maps/_MOC-* — 6 cross-exam topic MOCs
• JKSSB-PAPERS/<Exam>/_<Exam>.md — 7 exam hubs
• YAML frontmatter added to all 37 original notes (additive only — no exam content altered)

Key technical finding: Dataview query output does NOT create Graph View edges. Only real [[wikilinks]] and tags do. Graph was therefore built from real wikilinks; Dataview used only for readable index tables.

Phase 3 — Question Banks (section-wise)

Every PYQ extracted from all 7 papers into section files under Question-Bank/, each with Source · Question · Options · Answer · Explanation, paper-tagged and topic-grouped.

(The ~26 not banked are paper-specific technical items — mainly Wildlife-Guard's forest/wildlife ecology block Q101–120.)

Format evolved twice on user feedback: first to proper tables; then options moved to their own column with bolded **A)** letters. In Obsidian tables, aliased wikilinks must escape the pipe: [[Note\WO]].

Also built:

• Question-Bank/Topic-Index.md — a one-line topic essence for every question (done for JK-GK, General-Science, Current-Affairs, Computers, English)

Phase 4 — FAA accountancy

The CA Mohamad Lateef accountancy book was uploaded. It is in TWO parts (see Section 3 for the trap this caused):

• Part 1 = Ch 1–22 (Introduction → PFMS), then its own MCQ bank + answer key
• Part 2 = Ch 23–28 (Taxation, Cost Accounting, Cost Management, IFMS, Developments, Additional Content) — page numbers restart

Built, in order:

1. PYQ chapter-wise mapping — FAA-PYQs/2022/2022-Accountancy-Chapterwise.md and FAA-PYQs/2024/2024-Accountancy-Chapterwise.md
2. MCQ bank repair — MCQs.md split into 34 chapter sections, 125 damaged questions repaired in place; plus MCQs-Chapter-Map.md and MCQs-Repaired.md
3. 3 sourced addenda to fill genuine gaps (see Section 4)
4. 27 short notes — FAA-SHORT-NOTES/SN-1 … SN-27, plus the compiled FAA-ACCOUNTANCY-ALL-SHORT-NOTES.md

Phase 5 — FAA Statistics (10 marks)

Extracted and solved the statistics blocks of both FAA papers — 2022 Q31-40 and 2024 Q71-80 — mapped to the 10 syllabus topics. Built FAA-STATISTICS/ with an analysis+mapping file, a tagged-answers file (all 20 solved with worked steps), and a study plan. See the finding in Section 3.7.

Phase 6 — J&K Current Affairs

Built FAA-JK-CURRENT-AFFAIRS/ from the Parcham Jan-Jul 2026 compilation assessed in Section 3.9: a tiered short-notes file (priority 1/2/3 by demonstrated exam frequency, PYQ callouts on the 2 items already asked, 25-fact quick-revision table, 12 MCQ traps) and 50 MCQs rebuilt in the papers' own format mix - 40% multi-statement, 14% matching, 6% assertion-reason, 4% chronological - because the source PDF's own 9 questions are all one-liners and train the wrong skill.

Convention change (28 Aug 2026) — no more section signs

The user could not tell what the section sign meant. It has been removed from the whole vault (43 occurrences across 7 files) and replaced with the plain word "Section". Do not reintroduce it.

Added blocks inside the user's own notes must be wrapped in explicit START and END banners so it is obvious where an addition begins and where the original text resumes. The user could not see the boundaries otherwise.

Note on FAA-STATISTICS/Notes-Analysis.md (30 Aug 2026)

This is the 28 Aug gap-audit addendum, which the user removed from the notes and pasted into its own file. It is now SUPERSEDED — every gap it reports has been filled inside Notes-Statistics.md, and its scorecard ("cannot answer 4", ~10-13 of 17) is no longer true (now ~16-17 of 17). A dated [!fix] SUPERSEDED banner + frontmatter was added at its top mapping each old gap to where it now lives. Kept, not deleted — it is the record of what was wrong and why.

Phase 13 — Accountancy CHEAT SHEET (31 Aug 2026)

Built FAA-ACCOUNTANCY-CHEAT-SHEET.md — 435 lines, 28 tables, the whole 30-mark section condensed to one crammable page. Distilled from the 27-chapter compiled short notes plus all 60 accountancy questions across the two FAA papers.

Structure: scoreboard → the 4 verbatim repeats → Foundations (Ch 1-4) → Recording chain (Ch 5-10) → Final Accounts (Ch 11-14) → BRS → Partnership → Single Entry → Taxation → Cost Accounting → PFMS/Finance/Audit/Social → the 4 wrong keys → 16-row trap table → exam-day attempt order.

The two findings that drive the sheet

• ⭐ EIGHT chapters appeared in BOTH papers — Ch 1, 3, 4, 15, 16, 17, 19, 22. Together 26 of 60 marks ≈ 13 marks every year. That is the floor and it is now stated as the first thing on the sheet.
• ⭐ The paper changes character: 2022 = fundamentals (Ch 5 + Ch 2 + Final Accounts = 18/30); 2024 = applied finance (Taxation 5 + BRS 4 + Costing 3 = 12/30) with Ch 5 and Final Accounts at ZERO. The sheet tells the user to prepare for both shapes rather than betting on one.

Full 60-question distribution table included (Ch 5 = 7 marks, Ch 15 = 6, Ch 2 / 23 / 16 = 5 each, and so on). Carries forward the 4 wrong answers in the book's key (Q3, Q367, Q519, Q543), the author's corrigendum, and the Income-tax Act 2025 / "TAX YEAR" change effective 1 Apr 2026.

Phase 12 — Mathematics study plan (30 Aug 2026)

Built FAA-MATHS/Maths-Study-Plan.md — the third and final maths file. Its distinguishing feature over the Statistics plan is a DEPTH LADDER, because the maths syllabus is +2 level and the scope boundary matters more than the content.

The depth ladder (L1-L4): L1 recall only (determinant properties) · L2 one-step formula (interest, vectors, distance) · L3 two-step method (linear equations, P&C, sets, probability) · L4 concept judgement (relations & functions, and the statement parts).

A DO NOT STUDY list was included — proofs, continuity/differentiability, applications of derivatives, all integration, inverse trig, differential equations, LPP, adjoint/inverse/Cramer's rule, conic sections, triple products. None has ever been asked and each would cost hours.

Also carries: a complete one-page formula sheet, an 8-week schedule (~3 hrs/week, 20-24 hrs total), exam-day attempt order, an 11-row trap table, and NCERT chapter sourcing per topic (this is Class 11-12 NCERT, not aptitude).

Realistic target set at 7-8/10 (vs 8-9/10 for Statistics) because 2024 Q89 was unanswerable.

Phase 11 — Statistics notes SPLIT into one file per topic (30 Aug 2026)

Notes-Statistics.md (4,146 lines) was hard to navigate as a single file, so it was split into 11 topic files + an index in FAA-STATISTICS/Notes/:

Every file carries frontmatter, a prev / index / next navigation bar top and bottom, and an abstract callout naming its syllabus topic and its PYQs.

Structural fix applied during the split: topic (iii) Questionnaires is nested inside topic (ii) in the original (a questionnaire is a primary collection method), so PART A + PART B + PART C of topic (ii) were rejoined into ST-2, and the questionnaire content pulled out into ST-3. A note in ST-2 records this.

Notes-Statistics.md is KEPT as the consolidated single-file version — the vault convention is to have both.

✅ Verified: 924 distinctive terms and all 221 headings present in the split set; 18 of 18 PYQ callouts carried across; all code fences balanced; 9 HTML tables intact; links resolve (index uses the vault's escaped-pipe convention).

Phase 10 — REFORMATTING the raw notes (30 Aug 2026) ✅ COMPLETE

The user's notes were raw — lecture-transcription markdown, not documented prose. On the user's explicit instruction, presentation is now being rewritten (this is a deliberate, user-directed exception to RULE 3; a dated backup is kept beside the file: Notes-Statistics.BACKUP-YYYYMMDD-HHMM.md).

What "raw" meant, and what was fixed:

Done — units 1-3 (FOUNDATION + topics (i), (ii), (iii)): 688 raw lines → 647 documented lines, 52 tables, 8 mermaid diagrams preserved, 5 PYQ callouts kept, code fences balanced. ⚠️ Also found and removed a duplicated raw intro block (63 lines) that sat above the FOUNDATION marker. ✅ Content preservation verified programmatically — 472 distinctive terms from the backup checked against the rewrite; the only non-matches were deliberate normalisations (Mahalnobis→Mahalanobis, Ronald Fischer→Ronald Fisher, Indepth→in-depth, Distinguished observation→Disguised observation).

Done — units 4-6 (topics (iv) Tabulation, (v) Central Tendency, (vi) Probability): 48,972 -> ~47,000 chars. All headings renumbered into a consistent 1 / 1.1 / 1.2 scheme (topic (iv) now 1-9, topic (v) 1-6, topic (vi) 1-9). Structural fixes: Mean, Median and Mode were H1 headings with their definition inline on the same line — split into proper ## 2. Mean / ## 3. Median / ## 4. Mode (Z) sections with the definition beneath; removed a duplicate # Measures of Central Tendency H1; un-bolded the topic (v) banner. 6 HTML tables and 10 mermaid diagrams preserved intact; 93 markdown tables; code fences balanced. Spelling corrected: Cummulative -> Cumulative.

Done — units 7-10 (topics (vii) Attributes, (viii) Index Numbers, (ix) Census, (x) Vital Statistics): 72,884 -> 71,104 chars.

ALL 10 UNITS ARE NOW REFORMATTED. Final file: 4,147 lines · 10 topic banners · 18 PYQ callouts · code fences balanced · zero stray control characters · zero raw :- artifacts.

Structural finds in this pass:

• Four duplicate H1 headings sat directly under the topic banners (# Theory of Attributes, # ==Index Numbers==, # Demography - census..., # ==Vital Statistics==) — removed.
• ⚠️ Yule's Coefficient of Association appeared TWICE, the second copy self-labelled "(Repeated Page/Content)" — same formula, same Q-interpretation, same scale diagram. Merged: one theory block kept, and the second copy's unique worked examples preserved as 4.4 Yule's Coefficient — Worked Examples.
• ==highlight== markers stripped from heading lines (they render badly in headings; kept everywhere else).
• Demographic-transition Stage 2/3/4/5 labels used :- mid-line — normalised.
• Numbering normalised: (vii) 1-4, (viii) 1-7, (ix) 1-6, (x) 1-5, with the added blocks folded in as 6.1 National Headline Figures and 5.2-5.4 rather than floating.

Spelling normalised: Urbanization -> Urbanisation. Content verified against the backup — 597 distinctive terms checked, only the two deliberate rewordings differed.

Phase 9 — Dividing Notes-Statistics.md into the 10 syllabus topics (28 Aug 2026) ✅ COMPLETE

The user could not tell where one topic ended and the next began. The file is being divided to match the 10 official syllabus topics, since the 2024 paper asked exactly one question per topic in order (Section 3.7).

Structure now used:

• A table of contents at the top listing all 10 topics with a divided / pending status column
• # 🔷 TOPIC (n) — NAME banner + an [!abstract] callout naming what the topic covers and which PYQs came from it
• [!note] ⬛ END OF TOPIC (n) closing banner
• An ⬜ FOUNDATION marker over the intro, which is not a syllabus topic

Done: topics (i) through (vi). 🔴 TOPIC (vi) THEORY OF PROBABILITY HAS NOW BEEN WRITTEN IN FULL — it did not exist in the notes at all. Covers basic terms, types of events (mutually exclusive / exhaustive / independent / complementary), the three definitions, addition & multiplication theorems, conditional probability, odds, Bayes, 4 worked examples (incl. the 2022-Q34 type), and an 8-row trap table. The Section 3.10 gap is now closed.

Earlier: topics (i), (ii), (iii) — including the nesting fix: Topic (iii) Questionnaires sits INSIDE the primary-methods list, so it is bracketed and an ↩️ Back inside Topic (ii) marker resumes the parent topic at ### Schedules. Content added to topic (i): types of data — quantitative vs qualitative, discrete vs continuous variable, time-series vs cross-sectional.

ALL 10 TOPICS NOW DIVIDED. Final file: 4,127 lines · 11 topic banners · 11 END banners · 7 ADDED blocks · 4 [!pyq] · 3 [!fix]. Author's headings all verified present; zero stray control characters.

Content added in the last pass:

• (ix) Census — Census 2011 national headline figures (121.09 crore, 17.7% decadal growth, 382/km², 943 sex ratio, 919 child sex ratio, 74.04% literacy) and ⭐ NAGALAND as the only state with negative decadal growth (−0.58%) — 2022·Q40 asked exactly this and it was absent.
• (x) Vital Statistics — ⭐ NRR ≤ GRR always (with the reason: GRR ignores mortality, NRR applies survival, so you can only lose women) · ASFR modal value 20–25 · a flag on the MMR denominator conflict (notes say per 1,00,000 = WHO/SRS convention and are correct; the 2024 paper used per 1,000 — take whichever the options offer).
• (vii) and (viii) needed no content — the audit found them already complete.

Section 3.10 audit is now fully closed. Projected score moves from ~10-13 of 17 to ~16-17 of 17.

⚠️ The earlier ADDENDUM block was removed from the file (by the user). Its gap-fills for topics (ii), (iv) and (v) survive as in-place ADDED CONTENT blocks; the Probability content it carried is gone and must be re-added at topic (vi).

Phase 8 — Patching Notes-Statistics.md section-wise (28 Aug 2026, IN PROGRESS)

User asked for the audited gaps to be filled in place, section by section, first 3 first. Each addition is a clearly marked ➕ ADDED block inserted at the right point in the notes (not appended), with [!pyq] markers where a PYQ maps to it. Still additive — no author text rewritten or deleted.

Done — sections 1-3:

2. Graphical Representation → Histogram → Polygon → Curve limiting relationship (2022·Q38)

Remaining: Section 4 Theory of Attributes · Section 5 Index Numbers · Section 6 insert the missing PROBABILITY section (the 🔴 gap from Section 3.10) · Section 7 Census fixes · Section 8 Vital Statistics.

⚠️ Note for future sessions: writing LaTeX into this file through a bash heredoc mangles backslash escapes ( →TAB, →FF, →CR). Use raw strings or the Write/Edit tool.

Phase 7 — Audited the user's own statistics notes (28 Aug 2026)

The user added FAA-STATISTICS/Notes-Statistics.md (3,500+ lines, their own/teacher's notes). Audited against all 20 PYQs. See Section 3.10. Handled per RULE 3 — additive only: 3 inline [!fix] callouts beside the errors and one marked ADDENDUM at the end. No author text was rewritten or deleted.

3. 🔬 Findings — the analytical results

3.25 🔁 VAULT-WIDE DUPLICATE SWEEP (1 Sep 2026)

The user asked whether the same question had been written twice anywhere else, as it had been in accountancy. It had — in statistics too, and in three more forms nobody had looked for.

What the sweep found

What was done

• Statistics: removed 16 duplicate callouts; relabelled the survivors to the canonical PAA 2020 · Q<n> (booklet A: Q<m>), keeping the inline placement (which sits at the exact point in the notes the answer comes from). Six emptied section headings tidied away.
• Statistics-Tagged-Answers: dropped the 10 duplicate cross-reference callouts, kept the validation table (the valuable part), and folded "official key X ✅" into each worked solution's header. 40 → 30 callouts, no content lost.
• Accountancy: removed the 14 unlabelled Panchayat callouts (all were duplicates or misfiled — series-A Q98 = PAA Q88 belongs in Ch 11, Q104 = PAA Q103 in Ch 15).
• All 58 spaceless prose refs repointed to canonical PAA numbering across the chapter notes, the plans, INDEX and the MCQ chapter map.

⚠️ The same mistake, twice — and what fixed it

Removing a callout by matching "contains PAA 2020 · Q93" also matched the 2024 callout that cites Q93, deleting both. This lost 2024 Q36, Q43 and Q49 — for the second time this session, from the identical cause.

✅ Resolved properly: those three questions appeared in both papers, so they now live as one merged callout — 2024 · Q36 ≡ PAA 2020 · Q93 — instead of two competing ones. The duplicate cannot recur because there is no longer a separate copy to match.

📌 Lesson, now learned twice: a text-matching delete must be checked against a coverage count afterwards, every time. Both losses were caught only by re-running the 30/30 tally.

Final verified state

Stale 2022·Q references vault-wide: 0. The only remaining 2022·Q numbers are genuine FAA 2022 ones (Q36, 37, 41, 45, 48, 53, 57, 59).

⭐ The 9 near-duplicate pairs left in Accountancy-Tagged-Answers are correct and deliberate — that file is organised by paper, so the 7 questions that genuinely appeared in both FAA papers are shown in both blocks.

3.24 🔍 AUDIT of the accountancy cheat sheet + combined notes (1 Sep 2026)

The user asked whether the cheat sheet and the combined short notes are complete — all important topics and all PYQs. Audited both against all 90 accountancy questions and all 27 chapters.

✅ What was already sound

🚩 Three defects found and fixed

1. The cheat sheet was missing 12 facts that real PYQs test. It predates the FAA 2022 paper and the PAA block, so it had no: amortization-vs-depreciation, the personal/real/nominal account tree, provision for doubtful debts, deposit in transit, the four partnership types, "true and fair opinion", J. R. Hicks, social-accounting sectors, incidence vs impact, agricultural-income exemption, CGST s.2(52) goods, IPO vs FPO. ✅ Nine GAP-FILL blocks added across Ch 2, 5, 11, 15, 16, 19, 20, 23 and 26.

2. 🚩 The notes carried the SAME PAA questions TWICE, under two booklet numberings. Because both Panchayat booklets hold the same 30 questions (Section 3.23), every question inserted as "PAA 2020 · Qn" also sat there as "PAA 2020·A · Qm" from the earlier pass — e.g. the pass-book question appeared as both PAA Q95 and A-Q93 in the same chapter. ✅ 27 duplicate callouts removed from the combined file, 26 from the SN files. Each PAA question now appears exactly once, under the officially-keyed PAA 2020 numbering.

3. Six PAA questions were filed in the wrong chapter by the earlier rough mapping. ✅ Relocated to match the verified mapping in Accountancy-Tagged-Answers:

⚠️ A mistake I made during the fix, and caught

Three of the duplicate callouts were merged headers — 2024 · Q49 ≡ PAA 2020·A · Q93. Stripping them deleted the 2024 question along with the duplicate, silently losing 2024 Q36 (Money Measurement), Q43 (Statement of Affairs) and Q49 (bank pass book) — three of the four PAA→FAA repeats. ✅ Caught by the post-fix coverage count (2024 read 27/30) and restored from backup into Ch 3, 17 and 15, rewritten to reference the PAA question rather than merge with it. 📌 Lesson: when de-duplicating, check what else the removed block carried. A callout serving two papers is not disposable.

Housekeeping

12 backup files were being written into FAA-SHORT-NOTES/ and the FAA root, where Obsidian would index them as real notes and Graph View would show them as duplicates. Moved to _backups/ at the vault root.

Final state — verified

All 30 PAA questions verified in the correct chapter. All 40 fact-checks now pass in both the cheat sheet and the combined notes.

3.23 📙 The PAA accountancy block added — and the "69 %" corrected (1 Sep 2026)

The user pointed out that Accountancy-Tagged-Answers had the 60 FAA questions but not the PAA block, while the statistics tagged file carried its Panchayat blocks. Fixed — and fixing it turned up two corrections.

What was added

All 30 PAA 2020 accountancy questions (Q81–110), chapter-tagged, with the official JKSSB key. I re-solved all 30 independently — 29 agree. The exception is Q95 (bank pass book), where the official key says B and the correct answer is C; FAA 2024·Q49 asks the identical question and accepts C. Flagged in place.

The tagged file now holds 90 questions: 30 FAA 2022 + 30 FAA 2024 + 30 PAA 2020.

🚩 Correction 1 — all 30 questions exist; the earlier count of 29 was wrong

Section 3.17 and the PAA analysis counted 29 accountancy questions. There are 30. The source transcription had merged Q88 into Q87, so Q88 was invisible to the extractor. Both are now recovered:

• Q87 Drawings must be deducted from → Capital (key C)
• Q88 Correct adjusting entry for prepaid expenses → Dr Prepaid Expense, Cr Expense (key A)

🚩 Correction 2 — the two Panchayat booklets are 100 % identical, not 69 %

Re-checking every question by hand rather than by similarity score: all 30 accountancy questions appear in BOTH booklets, merely reordered. The three that had scored as "different" — Q87, Q89 and Q108 — are simply the OCR-damaged ones.

⭐ The 69 % figure was a transcription artefact, not a real difference. This removes the last doubt that 2022-paper and PAA-2020 are two series of one exam. Corrected in Four-Paper-Comparison, PAA-2020-Accountancy-Analysis and Accountancy-Chapterwise-Weightage.

⭐ The verified PAA chapter mapping — and what it exposes

🔴 Ch 5 + 11 + 12 + 14 = 12 of the PAA block's 30 marks, and ONE mark across both FAA papers. 40 % of the Panchayat accountancy paper points at 1.7 % of the FAA accountancy marks. And PAA gives nothing for Ch 7 (4 FAA marks), Ch 4 (3), Ch 10 (3), Ch 20 (2), Ch 8 (1) — on top of the 16 marks in Taxation, Costing, Financial Management and IFMS.

⭐ Verdict unchanged but sharper: do the PAA questions as practice, never as a priority guide.

3.22 ⭐ WEIGHTAGE REBUILT + the accountancy tagged answers (1 Sep 2026)

Completing the Section 3.21 work. Four deliverables, plus the two open items from 3.20.

New files

Verification

I re-solved all 30 FAA-2024 accountancy questions independently — all 30 agree with the paper's key, including the three numericals: Q32 prime cost ₹1,70,000, Q58 goodwill ₹7,500, Q60 break-even 98,000 units.

⭐ The accountancy tier structure

⭐ Tier 2 is the best value on the paper — five short chapters, 16 marks, and four of the five contain a question that has already repeated once.

🚨 The Panchayat-priority trap, quantified

⚠️ Drilling the Panchayat papers as if they were FAA papers puts your heaviest hours on Double Entry and Trading Account for a combined ONE mark.

Maths — FAA 2022 Q81–90 added

Maths-Tagged-Answers now holds 22 questions (was 12). Maths behaves like statistics: 8 of 10 topics in both FAA papers. 2022 skipped (vi) Relations & Functions and (vii) Matrices and doubled up on Set Theory and Linear equations. ⚠️ 4 of the 10 maths questions in FAA 2022 are defective — Q82 and Q83 dropped (duplicate options; Q83 has no valid answer at all), Q84's principal misprinted, Q89's stem lost. The maths section is the sloppiest part of the paper.

Cheat sheet rebuilt

FAA-ACCOUNTANCY-CHEAT-SHEET Parts 0 and 1 were built on the Panchayat paper. Rebuilt on both real FAA papers: the scoreboard now shows 12 chapters in both papers = 36 of 60 marks, and Part 1 lists the 7 FAA→FAA repeats plus the 4 PAA→FAA ones. Stale annotations fixed — "Ch 5: 7 marks in 2022" (really 1) and "Final Accounts: 6 marks in 2022" (really 0 in both FAA papers).

3.21 ⭐⭐ THE FAA-TO-FAA REPEAT RATE — rebuilt on two real papers (1 Sep 2026)

Follows on from Section 3.20. With the real FAA 2022 paper in hand, every cross-paper claim in the vault was re-measured, full block (stem + all options), with every near-miss re-read by hand.

⭐ Finding 1 — accountancy repeats FAA→FAA at 23 %

⭐ 5 verbatim + 2 rephrased = 7 of 30 = 23 %. Anyone who had worked the 2022 paper banked 5–7 marks in 2024. (Similarity flagged 4; Q53 and Q37/Q59 were found by hand — the score misses questions reworded or renamed.)

This CLOSES the Section 3.20 open item to re-derive Section 3.1. The old "4 verbatim repeats across both FAA papers" was really PAA-2020 → FAA-2024. Both sets are real; they are different sets. ⭐ PFMS is the only question confirmed in three genuinely different exams — PAA 2020, FAA 2022, FAA 2024.

⭐ Finding 2 — the FAA and Panchayat question banks are separate

The real FAA 2022 paper shares nothing with the Panchayat paper. Everything outside accountancy — statistics, maths, economics, GK, English, science, computers — measured 0 % across every pair tested.

⭐ Finding 3 — statistics: 8 of 10 topics in BOTH FAA papers

⭐⭐ Topics (vii) and (viii) occupied Q77 and Q78 in BOTH years — and were the two hardest questions both times. Every one of the ten topics has now been tested in a real FAA paper; none is safe to skip. 2022 was the easier paper (all ten are direct facts or one-step sums); 2024 introduced multi-statement and matching formats — prepare for 2024's difficulty.

⭐ Finding 4 — chapter movement across the two FAA papers

Twelve chapters appear in BOTH: Ch 4, 6, 7, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 26 — 24 of the 60 marks.

⚠️ Taxation + Costing + Financial Management + IFMS = 17 of the 60 FAA accountancy marks, and score ZERO in both Panchayat papers. Nearly a third of the section is unreachable via PAA practice.

3.20 🚩🚩 MAJOR CORRECTION — the "FAA 2022" paper was never an FAA paper (1 Sep 2026)

Supersedes every earlier statement in this log that calls FAA-PYQs/2022/2022-paper.md an FAA paper. Triggered by the user asking why the statistics tagged-answers file looked confusing.

What it actually is

FAA-PYQs/2022/2022-paper.md is a booklet from the JKSSB Panchayat Accounts Assistant exam of 10 November 2020 — the same exam as JKSSB-PAPERS/PAA-2020.md, in a different series.

The real FAA 2022 paper — recovered

Held 6 March 2022 for 972 posts; cancelled after a confirmed paper leak / OMR tampering by MeritTrac, CBI case registered 28 Nov 2022 (results had been declared 21 Apr 2022). The paper itself is a genuine JKSSB-set FAA paper and is now in the vault as FAA-PYQs/FAA-2022/FAA-2022-paper.md — all 120 questions, options and the revised key.

Its structure matches FAA 2024, not the Panchayat paper:

⭐ Statistics sits at Q71–80 in BOTH real FAA papers. The combined Maths/Statistics block at Q31–40 is a Panchayat feature and was never the FAA format.

What this invalidates — read before trusting earlier sections

What is gained

The vault now holds 20 genuine FAA statistics questions (2022 Q71–80 + 2024 Q71–80) and 10 genuine FAA maths questions (2022 Q81–90), where before it had 10 of each mixed with Panchayat material. All ten new statistics answers were independently re-computed and agree with the key.

Errors found in the FAA 2022 official key

(This is the second JKSSB key error the vault has caught — see Section 3.19 on PAA Q95.)

3.1 The 4 questions repeated VERBATIM across both FAA papers

3.2 ⭐ The paper CHANGED CHARACTER between 2022 and 2024

• 2022 = fundamentals paper → Ch 2 + Ch 5 + Final Accounts = 18 of 30
• 2024 = applied-finance paper → Taxation 5 + BRS 4 + Costing 3 = 12 of 30, and Ch 5 + Final Accounts scored ZERO

Conclusion: prepare for both shapes. Floor = chapters appearing every year (15, 16, 17, 22, 3, 4, 19, 1, 6, 7) ≈ 17–20 marks. Upside = the volatile pair (Ch 5, Final Accounts).

3.3 Answer-pattern analysis (all 760 answers)

• Overall: C = 28.3% (most common), D = 20.8% (rarest), A 25.1%, B 25.8%
• Match-the-following → C or D 71% of the time; B only 11.5%
• "All of the above" correct only 23%; "None of the above" only 7%
• Longest identical run seen: 5
• ⚠️ Caveat recorded in the file: with −0.25 marking, break-even is 25%, so C's 28% barely clears it. Last-resort tie-breaker only.

3.4 ⚠️ TWO MAJOR ERRORS I MADE AND CORRECTED — do not repeat

1. "Chapters 23/24/26/27 don't exist." I concluded this from a partial index that showed only Part 1 (whose own MCQ section is numbered 23 and answer key 24). They DO exist — Part 2 has them. Corrected everywhere.
2. Related: the supplied lateef-notes-accountancy-analysis...md was therefore more accurate than I first credited. Its chapter references are right.

3.5 The error that IS in the supplied analysis

That analysis maps 2022 accountancy to Q31–60. Wrong. In the uploaded 2022-paper.md (an Accounts Assistant Panchayat, Series A paper) the layout is:

Its companion 2022-paper-distribution.md openly says it describes a "2020 booklet, Set C" — a different exam. 2024's Q31–60 mapping is correct.

3.6 🚩 Four wrong answers in the book's own MCQ key (each verified against the source PDF)

Plus the author's own corrigendum: ignore the "Test for Understanding" in Ch 2 (pp. 10–11) · p.26 read Purchases & Sales as NOMINAL accounts · p.29 "Cash memo received from seller" is EXTERNAL, not internal.

3.7 ⭐⭐ STATISTICS IS THE MOST PREDICTABLE SECTION ON THE PAPER

The 2024 paper asked EXACTLY ONE QUESTION FROM EACH OF THE 10 STATISTICS SYLLABUS TOPICS, IN SYLLABUS ORDER (Q71→topic i, Q72→ii, … Q80→x). 10 topics, 10 marks, one each.

Implications: no topic can be skipped (each miss = exactly 1 mark) and no topic needs depth beyond one question. Breadth beats depth. ~12-14 hrs of study should yield 8-9/10. Hardest item: Q78 Fisher Ideal Value Index (invert a reversed-base index via the time-reversal test, then Value = Price x Quantity). ⚠️ The 2022 paper is NOT a reliable guide for this section — it is a Panchayat paper and 3 of its 10 "statistics" questions are actually Mathematics (set theory Q32, coordinate geometry Q37) plus a time-series item (Q33).

3.19 PAA-2020 PYQs FOLDED INTO THE NOTES (31 Aug 2026)

All PAA-2020 questions inserted as callouts into the notes themselves — chapter-wise AND into the combined files, on the user's instruction.

Accountancy — all 30 questions placed

14 chapter files in FAA-SHORT-NOTES/ (Ch 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19, 22) and all 30 mirrored into FAA-ACCOUNTANCY-ALL-SHORT-NOTES.md. Each is a [!success]+ callout carrying the full stem, all four options with the correct one bolded, the official answer, and a one-line teaching note. Chapter spread: Ch 2 / Ch 5 / Ch 12 = 4 each · Ch 13 / Ch 15 = 3 · Ch 16 / Ch 17 / Ch 22 = 2 · Ch 1 / 3 / 6 / 7 / 11 / 19 = 1. (SN-11 has no "PYQs from this chapter" section — its question was placed under "PYQ link" instead.)

5 topic files in FAA-STATISTICS/Notes/ (ST-2, ST-4, ST-6, ST-7, ST-9) and all 8 mirrored into Notes-Statistics.md, under a new "🎯 PAA 2020 — PYQs on this topic" section in each. Topic spread: (ii) 2 · (iv) 2 · (vi) 1 · (vii) 1 · (ix) 2. ⚠️ The other 2 (PAA Q32 coordinate geometry, Q36 set theory) are MATHEMATICS, not statistics — they belong in FAA-MATHS/ and were deliberately not added to the statistics notes.

🚩 A KEY ERROR FOUND IN THE OFFICIAL PAA PAPER

PAA-2020 Q95 — "A bank pass book is a copy of" — the official key marks B, "the bank column of a customer's cash book". That is WRONG. ⭐ A pass book is the customer's account in the BANK's ledger — option C, which is what both the 2022 and 2024 papers accept. This matters because it is one of the four three-peat questions (Section 3.17). A [!fix] warning was inserted beside it in SN-15 and the combined file telling the reader to answer C, not B. ⚠️ Lesson: the PAA key validated 10/10 of the STATISTICS answers but is not infallible on accountancy. Treat it as strong evidence, not gospel.

Statistics-Tagged-Answers.md — the PAA block added

A new "📙 PAA 2020 — Q31–40" section was appended to Statistics-Tagged-Answers.md, carrying all ten questions of the PAA combined Maths/Statistics block with full stems, all four options, and the OFFICIAL key.

Because all ten reappeared verbatim in the 2022 paper (already solved earlier in that file), the section is built as a cross-reference + validation table rather than ten duplicate solutions: each callout shows PAA Q<n> ≡ 2022 Q<n>, the topic tag, the official answer and a one-line reason, and points back to the existing worked solution.

⭐ The validation table is the point: 10 of 10 of this vault's answers agree with the official PAA key. Those 2022 answers had been re-solved by hand from an AI-generated key and flagged as unofficial — they are now verified against an official JKSSB source, and the file header says so.

⚠️ The section also flags that 3 of the 10 are MATHEMATICS, not statistics (Q32 coordinate geometry, Q36 set theory, and Q38 time series which is off-syllabus entirely) — because PAA combines Maths+Statistics into one 10-mark section while FAA splits them into two.

Backups taken before editing: FAA-ACCOUNTANCY-ALL-SHORT-NOTES.BACKUP-*.md, Notes-Statistics.BACKUP-*.md and Statistics-Tagged-Answers.BACKUP-*.md. Verified: no odd code fences, no stray control characters in any of the 21 edited files.

3.18 ⭐⭐ THREE-PAPER PATTERN + the PAA answer key (31 Aug 2026)

User supplied the PAA syllabus and pointed out that PAA-2020.md DOES contain an answer key — correcting Section 3.17. Written to JKSSB-PAPERS/PAA-vs-FAA-Three-Paper-Comparison.md.

✅ CORRECTION to Section 3.17

I stated PAA-2020 had no answer key. Wrong. The full key for all 120 questions sits at the end of the file as bare NN X lines (e.g. 91 D), which is why a keyword grep for "answer" missed it. Both files corrected.

All ten PAA Q31-40 questions reappear in the 2022 paper. Statistics-Tagged-Answers.md derived those answers by hand from an AI-generated key, flagged as unofficial. The official PAA key agrees with all ten. Those answers are now verified against an official JKSSB source.

THE SYLLABUS STRUCTURE — PAA vs FAA

3.17 ⭐⭐ JKSSB RECYCLES PAPERS — PAA-2020 analysed (31 Aug 2026)

The user supplied JKSSB-PAPERS/PAA-2020.md — the Panchayat Accounts Assistant paper of 10 Nov 2020. Its accountancy block is Q81-110. Analysis written to JKSSB-PAPERS/PAA-2020-Accountancy-Analysis.md.

THE FINDING — measured by text-similarity over every question stem

The 2022 Panchayat paper is largely a RESHUFFLE of the 2020 one — most matches scored 0.96-1.00 similarity (word-for-word), with only the question numbers moved. Its entire statistics/maths block was reused, 10 of 10, merely reordered.

⭐ The 4 "verbatim repeats" are actually THREE-PEATS

Section 3.1 recorded four questions appearing in two papers. They appear in all three, at similarity 1.00: Money Measurement / human resources (PAA Q93 = 2022 Q105 = 2024 Q36) · PFMS <- CPSMS (Q83 = Q86 = Q42) · Bank pass book (Q95 = Q93 = Q49) · Statement of Affairs (Q90 = Q107 = Q43). Three sittings, six years, identical wording. All four are already on the accountancy cheat sheet.

⭐ The syllabus boundary (as the user noted)

PAA covers only FAA Chapters 1-22 — it stops BEFORE Taxation. The 2020 paper proves it: across all 30 accountancy questions there is ZERO taxation, ZERO cost accounting, ZERO budget, ZERO IFMS. Compare FAA 2024, where Taxation (5) + Costing (3) = 8 marks from chapters PAA never touches. So: PAA papers are an extra practice set for two-thirds of the FAA syllabus, and useless for the third that grew fastest in 2024.

Chapter profile of PAA-2020: Ch 2, Ch 5 and Ch 12 at 4 marks each = 12 of 30 (40%) — the same fundamentals-heavy shape as the 2022 paper.

⚠️ 2022-paper-distribution.md has now failed a THIRD check

It claims a "2020 Question Booklet" with Maths at Q81-90. This real PAA-2020 paper has no Mathematics section at all and puts Accounts at Q81-110. It matches neither paper we hold. Do not use it for section mapping.

⚠️ No answer key exists in PAA-2020.md — it is a blog scrape. The chapter mapping and concepts in the analysis are mine, derived from stems and options, and are flagged as needing verification.

3.16 🔍 SELF-AUDIT of Question-Bank/JK-GK.md (30 Aug 2026) — 54 questions re-verified

Every answer and explanation in the J&K-GK bank was re-checked against independent sources, including the JKSSB Study Fast J&K guide reviewed in Section 3.15.

RESULT: 52 of 54 sound. The bank is accurate. ⚠️ Finding 1 — TWO fauna answers follow keys that CONFLICT WITH IUCN

• WO.Q38 key says Hangul and Markhor are Critically Endangered. Hangul is — but Markhor was reclassified NEAR THREATENED in 2015.
• LA.Q78 key lists Snow Leopard, Ibex, Himalayan Tahr and Cheer Pheasant as "Endangered". None of the four is — Snow Leopard Vulnerable (2017), Siberian Ibex Near Threatened, Himalayan Tahr Near Threatened, Cheer Pheasant Vulnerable. ⭐ Independently corroborated: the JKSSB Study Fast guide's own IUCN table (Section 3.15) contradicts these keys too — it lists Snow Leopard as Vulnerable and Himalayan Tahr as Near Threatened. Action: the answers were left as the official key (that is what scores the mark), but both rows now carry an explicit IUCN-conflict flag, and a [!fix] banner was added at the top of the bank. Answer the paper's convention; know the real listing.

⚠️ Finding 2 — an error I introduced ELSEWHERE, now corrected

Section 3.9 and JK-CA-2026-Short-Notes.md both claimed the papers asked about a "Hangul census (IN.Q59)". Wrong on both counts. The bank is right: it is JA.Q59, from the Junior Assistant paper, and the answer is the MARKHOR census (2025-26) — confirmed in Junior-Assistant-Analysis.md. Corrected in both files. ⭐ Lesson: the question bank was the reliable record; the summary I wrote from memory was not. Check the bank before citing a PYQ.

3.15 📗 REVIEWED "J&K General Studies 2026" (JKSSB Study Fast / Iqbal Sir) — 30 Aug 2026

Strongest sections: Culture (8/9 outright) and Forts/Shrines (4/4) - including Akhnoor Fort on the Chenab, started by Raja Tej Singh 1762 (p.28), which confirms both statements of WO.Q35, and Hazratbal / Moi-e-Muqaddas / Sadiq Khan under Shah Jahan (p.30) for GD.Q113.

VERDICT: partially reliable — right content, wrong proportions, fatal J&K gap.

The core finding — the proportions are inverted

158 of 197 pages serve 3 questions; 0 pages serve 12. Studying it front-to-back spends 80% of the time for ~8% of the history marks. It is an SSC document — SSC weights Ancient India far more heavily than JKSSB does.

The Modern section (pp.159-197) is genuinely on-target. Confirmed direct hits on GD.Q100, GD.Q101, WG.Q81 (reform organisations and founders), IN.Q89 (Nana Patil - Satara), WG.Q82 (August Offer/Cripps/Wavell), FAA 2024 Q12 (freedom chronology).

Read pp.159-197 properly (6-8 hrs) · skim the "One Liners" blocks of pp.1-158 (3 hrs) · get J&K history entirely elsewhere (Question-Bank/JK-GK.md already holds the 12 J&K history PYQs). ~10 hrs instead of 40+.

3.13 ✅ MATHEMATICS MAPPED (30 Aug 2026) — the one-per-topic pattern is CONFIRMED ACROSS SECTIONS

The 2024 paper asked EXACTLY ONE MATHS QUESTION FROM EACH OF THE 10 SYLLABUS TOPICS, IN ORDER (Q81 to Q90) — identical in design to the Statistics section (Section 3.7). Two independent sections, same structure. This is now a confirmed paper-wide pattern, not a Statistics quirk.

Built FAA-MATHS/: Maths-Analysis-and-Mapping.md + Maths-Tagged-Answers.md (all 12 PYQs solved, every answer independently re-verified in Python).

Key findings

• ⭐ PROBABILITY IS WORTH TWO MARKS. It sits in BOTH syllabi — Statistics (vi) and Maths (viii) — and both were asked in 2024 (Q76 statistics, Q88 maths). One body of theory, two marks: the best marks-per-hour topic in the paper.
• ⭐ This is NCERT Class 11-12 maths, NOT SSC-style aptitude. Limits, derivatives, matrices, determinants, 3-D geometry, vectors. Zero percentage / profit-loss / time-and-work content. Prepare from NCERT, not an aptitude book.
• ⭐ Format is the difficulty, not the maths. 6 of 10 questions are multi-statement or matching, each requiring four separate judgements. Same design as Statistics.
• Set Theory and Coordinate Geometry are the only topics in BOTH papers - the two safest bets.

⚠️ The 2022 paper has NO maths section

The 2022 booklet is Accounts Assistant (Panchayat), Series A: Q1-30 GK · Q31-40 Statistics+Maths · Q41-50 Economics · Q51-80 Computers · Q81-110 Accountancy · Q111-120 Science. Only 2 genuine maths questions exist in it - Q32 (Set Theory) and Q37 (Coordinate Geometry), both inside the Q31-40 block.

⚠️ 2022-paper-distribution.md is NOT about the 2022 paper - second time caught

Its own header says it maps a "2020 Question Booklet (Set C, Series 68)", and it claims Maths = Q81-90. Proof: it lists Q80 as "CPI features" while the real 2022 Q80 is "What does IMAP stand for?" (computers). Section 3.5 already recorded this file being wrong for Accountancy. Do not use it for section mapping. (Side-benefit: if it does describe a 2020 paper, that paper also ran Maths at Q81-90, one per topic - independent support for the pattern.)

⚠️ Two errors found in the 2024 maths paper

1. Q89 has NO correct option. Area of triangle A(1,2,3) B(3,2,1) C(2,4,5): AB x AC = (4,-6,4), |AB x AC| = sqrt(68), Area = sqrt(17) ~ 4.123. Options are sqrt20, sqrt23, sqrt26, sqrt29 - none matches. The AI key says "D" but hedges it as "per matching patterns … approximations" - it was guessed. Treat as void.
2. Q86 pair (a) is mis-stated - x^2 + y = 2 has range (-inf, 2], not the [-2, inf) it is matched to (that is y = x^2 - 2). Answer D still holds by elimination.

3.12 ✅ All 18 in-syllabus PYQs marked at source in Notes-Statistics.md (28 Aug 2026)

Every statistics question from both FAA papers now sits as a gold [!pyq] callout at the exact point in the notes the answer comes from — not in an appendix. 18 markers: 2024 Q71-Q80 (10/10) and 2022 Q31, Q33, Q34, Q35, Q36, Q38, Q39, Q40 (8/8). Only 2022 Q32 and Q37 are unmarked — they are pure Mathematics (set theory, coordinate geometry), not statistics.

Each callout carries the full question, all four options, the answer, the working, and the trap. Findings worth keeping:

• ⭐ 2022·Q39 and 2022·Q36 are REPEAT items — both had already appeared in the PAA JKSSB 2020 paper, which the author's own notes flag. (AB) = (A)(B)/N and the sex-ratio computation have each now been asked twice.
• ⭐ 2024·Q71 and 2024·Q72 are mirror images — the same primary/secondary split tested from both directions in one paper.
• ⭐ 2022·Q34: options b, c, d were all GREATER THAN 1, so the range rule 0 ≤ P ≤ 1 eliminated three of four options before any calculation.
• ⭐ 2024·Q75's trick is that "number of sample" (n) is one of the four items to rank, and it is the largest — it is not a measure of central tendency at all.
• 2024·Q78 is really a test of the Time Reversal + Factor Reversal tests, not arithmetic — unsolvable without them.
• 2024·Q77 carries an OCR error in the paper ("23 boys play cricket" must read football); flagged beside the callout.

3.11 🔴 FOUR OUTDATED FACTS FOUND IN Notes-Statistics.md (web-verified 28 Aug 2026)

Checked the time-sensitive claims online (Firecrawl). Four were out of date — three of them changed in 2026, BEFORE the exam.

⚠️ The WPI three-group weights were also rebased (old 22.60/13.20/64.20 superseded). Reported new figures are roughly Manufactured 65% / Primary 20% / Fuel & Power 5%, but sources did not reconcile to 100% — the exact weights were NOT asserted in the notes; only the base-year change, which is what actually gets asked.

⭐ Items 2 and 3 are the highest-value additions of this whole session — freshly dated statistics facts for a finance post, exactly what a Nov 2026 paper reaches for. Item 4's 1 October 2026 snow-bound reference date is a likely J&K-GK question.

Applied as [!fix] callouts beside the original text (RULE 3 — nothing rewritten), plus updates to Statistics-Study-Plan.md.

3.10 ⭐ Audit of Notes-Statistics.md vs the 20 statistics PYQs (28 Aug 2026)

Excellent notes with one fatal hole.

🔴 THEORY OF PROBABILITY IS ENTIRELY ABSENT — the word "probability" appears zero times, yet it is syllabus topic (vi) and was asked in BOTH papers (2024·Q76, 2022·Q34). Because 2024 asked exactly one question per topic (Section 3.7), this is a guaranteed lost mark.

Other gaps/errors found: sex ratio given as 940 (that is the provisional figure; final Census 2011 = 943) · Nagaland's negative decadal growth absent (2022·Q40 asked it) · "Mode = 3 Median − 2 Mean" absent · sampling error absent (2022·Q31 asked it) · census feature "Simultaneity" misdefined as "compared with other countries" (it means all enumerated at the same reference moment) and "Individual Enumeration" missing from the feature list (2024·Q79) · frequency-polygon→curve limit not stated (2022·Q38).

What is outstanding: Index Numbers (Fisher √(L×P) + all four Tests of Adequacy) — this covers Q78, the hardest 2024 question; Theory of Attributes ((AB)=(A)(B)/N, Yule's, consistency, contingency tables); Vital Statistics (GRR vs NRR complete); collection/questionnaires (~390 lines, includes the pilot survey step).

Scorecard on the 17 in-syllabus PYQs: ✅ 10 fully answerable · ⚠️ 3 risky · ❌ 4 unanswerable (Q76, Q34 probability; Q31; Q40). ≈10-13 of 17 as written; a full 10/10 resource once the addendum gaps are learned.

3.9 External resource assessed — Parcham "J&K Current Affairs Jan-July 2026" PDF (27 Aug 2026)

25-page J&K CA compilation (Parcham Classes) checked against the 7 papers' 22 CA questions and the JK-GK bank. Verdict: useful J&K-GK reinforcement, NOT sufficient as current-affairs prep (~7/10).

Hits: covers both J&K-specific CA questions the papers asked - IN.Q65 (Brij Lal Bhat, Padma Shri 2026 social work) and SF.Q100 (J&K maiden Ranji Trophy v Karnataka). Also covers the most-repeated JK-GK topics: Chenab tributaries/dams (3 questions), lakes/wetlands incl. Wular + Hokersar (3), passes (3), species+IUCN (3), hydro projects. Gets the Ujh = Ravi, not Chenab discriminator right - the exact hinge of WG.Q67 and JA.Q60.

Gaps: (1) 20 of the 22 CA questions asked were NATIONAL - Nobel, SPADEX, Asia Cup Hockey, Digital Agriculture Mission, RDI, Economic Survey, SIR, SHANTI Act - and the PDF covers none. (2) ⚠️ No finance/budget content despite the post - no J&K Budget 2026-27, GSDP, J&K Bank, GST. (3) Window is Jan-Jul 2026; the target window is Dec 2025 -> Oct 2026, so ~4 of 11 months uncovered. (4) Its 9 practice MCQs are all simple one-liners, but ~50% of the papers' CA questions are multi-statement "which are correct I/II/III", plus matching and chronological ordering - wrong format to practise on.

Defects found in it: p.23 Q9 printed with no answer (correct = B); p.18 lists "Niru" and "Neeru" as two separate Chenab tributaries (same river); p.18 tributary block has no "Chenab River" heading; p.8 "Wular = 2nd largest freshwater lake in Asia" is an unverified coaching claim (exam-safe fact = largest freshwater lake in India); p.14 Zoji La given as ~3,580 m with a dubious "5,008 m" aside (standard figure 3,528 m / 11,575 ft).

3.8 MCQ bank repair

MCQs.md contained 600 questions (not 300 as the title page says — that was Part 1 only) with complete answer keys, but the PDF→markdown conversion had mangled 125:

• 107 in a broken table layout with options concatenated and no separator
• 18 more with options orphaned across page breaks (Q321, 363, 403, 438, 472, 512, 538) or truncated (Q500, 501, 527–531)

All 125 were repaired — semantically re-split, verified against the original PDF (242-288.pdf, which covers Q301–600), and merged in place. 595 / 600 now complete. Still missing: Q51, 78, 81, 82, 127 — Part-1 questions whose text was destroyed; recoverable only if the Part-1 MCQ pages (~pp. 103–164) are supplied.

4. 🩹 Gaps found and filled

Four topics were asked in the 2024 paper but appear nowhere in the book or its 600 MCQs. Sourced addenda were appended (clearly marked, original text untouched):

⚠️ Current-law update embedded in Ch 23

The Income-tax Act, 2025 replaced the 1961 Act on 1 April 2026 — before the exam. "TAX YEAR" replaces "Previous Year" · 536 sections, 23 chapters · rates unchanged. The book's Ch 23 and MCQs Q501–550 predate this and quote AY 2020-21/2021-22. Flagged in the chapter, the short note, and both plans.

⚠️ Dated content warning (standing)

Tax slabs, surcharge rates, 80C-type limits and RBI policy rates change. Definitions and formulas added are permanent; numbers need re-checking before the exam. This caveat is written into the addenda themselves.

The J&K GK lecture notes

FAA-JK-GK-NOTES/lec-1…4 (user's own notes from EACT/Tawqeer Sir) were fact-checked and annotated with 19 gold [!pyq] markers showing which facts came up in real papers. Corrections applied:

• Ramsar sites are now 7 (J&K 5, Ladakh 2), not 4 — Hygam & Shallabugh (2022), Tso Kar (2020)
• Ladakh's hottest month is July, not March (the notes' claim conflicts with meteorological data)
• Banihal–Qazigund 8.45 km is a road tunnel; the rail tunnel is Pir Panjal ≈11.2 km
• Suru ≈185 km (not 1885); "River of Lahore" is the Ravi
• ✅ Verified correct: Kalij Pheasant as UT bird (21 Oct 2021)

6. 🎯 Standing conclusions to carry forward

1. Accountancy + J&K GK = 60 marks — the deciding sections.
2. Prepare for both paper shapes (fundamentals vs applied finance).
3. Ch 15 BRS is the single most reliable chapter — 6 marks across two papers, rising.
4. Ch 23 Taxation is the biggest and newest risk — 5 marks in 2024, 100 MCQs, and the law changed.
5. The 4 verbatim repeats are near-free marks. ⚠️ Unverified as of 1 Sep 2026 — that comparison used a Panchayat paper (Section 3.20). Re-derive against the real FAA 2022.
6. Ch 22 PFMS is the best marks-per-page — 7 pages, 3 marks.
7. Current-affairs window: Dec 2025 → Oct 2026 (derived from past-paper recency: freshest item ~4 weeks before exam).
8. Answer-pattern edge is real but tiny — last resort only.
9. Statistics = 1 question per syllabus topic (2024 proved it). Highest marks-per-hour section on the paper — cover all 10 topics shallowly, never skip one.
10. ⭐ There are exactly TWO real FAA papers: 6 Mar 2022 and 28 Jan 2024. In both, Statistics = Q71–80 and Mathematics = Q81–90, as separate 10-mark sections. The Panchayat papers (2020, two series) are adjacent-syllabus practice only — never count them as FAA past papers (Section 3.20).
11. ⭐⭐ 7 of 30 accountancy questions repeated FAA 2022 → FAA 2024 (23 %). Working both FAA accountancy sections is the highest-yield revision in the vault — ~7 marks (Section 3.21).
12. ⭐⭐ Statistics: 8 of 10 topics appeared in BOTH FAA papers, and (vii)/(viii) sat at Q77/Q78 both years. Cover all ten topics shallowly; skipping one guarantees a lost mark.
13. ⚠️ Ch 23 Taxation is the single biggest FAA accountancy chapter — 3 marks in 2022, 5 in 2024, and zero in every Panchayat paper. Together with Costing, Financial Management and IFMS it is 17 of 60 marks PAA practice cannot reach.

• Wants one consolidated file at the end of a series, not just fragments
• Values honest flagging of errors, gaps and dated content over confident-sounding filler
