INDEX — FAA Accountancy (CA Mohamad Lateef)
📚 FAA Accountancy — Master Index
Book: Accountancy for Finance Accounts Assistant — CA Mohamad Lateef · as per the latest JKSSB syllabus.
[!important] ⚠️ The book is in TWO parts — and the chapter numbers collide The original contents page lists "23. Multiple Choice Questions" and "24. Answer Key" — those belong to Part 1 only. Part 2 restarts its page numbers and has its own Chapters 23–28. So "Chapter 23" means Taxation, not the MCQ section. (This collision is what caused an earlier mis-reading of what the book covers.)
Part 1 Part 2 Chapters 1 – 22 (Introduction → PFMS) 23 – 28 (Taxation → Additional Content) Followed by its own MCQ bank + answer key its own MCQ bank + answer key
The title page says "300 MCQ'S" — that was Part 1 only. With Part 2 included the bank is 600 questions with full answer keys. See MCQs.

📊 What the exam actually asks — chapter weight
| Chapter | 2022 | 2024 | MCQs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ch 5 Double Entry & Journal | 7 | 0 | 34 |
| Ch 2 Basic Terms | 5 | 1 | 28 |
| Ch 23 Taxation | 0 | 5 | 100 |
| Ch 15 BRS | 2 | 4 | 38 |
| Ch 16 Partnership | 2 | 3 | 38 |
| Ch 12–14 Final Accounts | 6 | 0 | 44 |
| Ch 24/25 Costing & Budgeting | 0 | 3 | 50 |
| Ch 3 Concepts | 1 | 2 | 47 |
| Ch 17 Single Entry | 2 | 1 | 19 |
| Ch 22 PFMS | 2 | 1 | 3 |
| Ch 1, 4, 6, 7, 10, 19, 26 | 1 each | 1–2 each | — |
[!tip] The pattern that matters 2022 was a fundamentals paper — Ch 2 + Ch 5 + Final Accounts = 18 of 30. 2024 swung to applied finance — Taxation 5 + BRS 4 + Costing 3 = 12 of 30, while Ch 5 and Final Accounts vanished entirely. Prepare for both shapes. Safest core: Ch 15 · 16 · 23 · 24 · 3 · 4 · 22 · 19 · 17 — keeping Ch 2 and Ch 5 solid in case it swings back.
⭐ Four questions repeated verbatim across both papers
Money Measurement (2022·Q105 ≡ 2024·Q36) · PFMS/CPSMS (Q86 ≡ Q42) · Bank pass book (Q93 ≡ Q49) · Statement of affairs (Q107 ≡ Q43).
✅ Former gaps — now covered by addenda
The book omitted current-ratio formula · financial leverage · Sec 80CCD limits · "Goods" u/s 2(52) (worth 4 marks in 2024). Sourced addenda have been appended to L-18-FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, L-23-TAXATION, TAX LAWS – DIRECT & INDIRECT TAX and L-26-INDIAN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
🔄 Current-law update
The Income-tax Act, 2025 replaced the 1961 Act on 1 April 2026 — "Tax Year" now replaces "Previous Year". Ch 23's original text predates this; see its addendum.
🚩 Known errors in the book
Answer-key errors (each verified against the source PDF):
| MCQ | Question | Book's key | Correct |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q3 | Characteristic shown when info is clearly presented | D (Reliability) | A — Understandability |
| Q367 | Obsolescence is caused by | D (None of the above) | C — Technological changes |

The author's own corrigendum (printed at the end of the MCQ file):
- Ignore the "Test for Understanding" in Ch 2, pages 10–11
- Page 26: read Purchases A/c and Sales A/c as NOMINAL accounts under the Traditional Approach (the printed table wrongly shows them as Real)
- Page 29: delete "Cash Memo received from Seller" from Internal supporting vouchers — it is External
- Revised answers for several previous-edition questions; two are marked "ignore this question"
Still missing: MCQs Q51, 78, 81, 82, 127 — their text was destroyed in the Part-1 conversion and cannot be recovered from the pages supplied so far.
